Why is everything going vintage? (Please read details)?
Why do all of the industries that shape our lives feel they have to produce items that resemble the past? In many genres of music we have new artists comming up with songs that are not new at all and basically taking credit for them. For instance take Rhianna's S.O.S it is basically The Cure - Tainted Love In film why do we ruin awesome movies by continuing them with bad plots and actors just to make money, and pretend they are better simply because we have better graphics. I strongly believe this is true with movies like Terminator 3, Superman Returns, Star Wars, even Live Free or Die Hard. More and more clothing manufacturers make more and more vintage clothing? Won't new contemporary designs also sell? Automobile industry, why do we have to ruin the legacy that the Camaro, Mustang, Charger, etc. have made. Are we out of original designs? While we're at it why are we still using engines with pistons? We should be more advanced. Have we lost all creativity?

- Yes. Yes. we have.
- I am more concern with things that are made so cheaply with very low or bad quality, yet charge you as if it was premium goods. Same goes with the Entertainment Industry too. I do believe that "Vintage" is made is because it is something familiar to a certain age group. With so many changes, a lot of people can't even recognize the same world they live in, so they look for something in the past that gave them those warm and fuzzy feelings.
- i say you nailed it, but the boomers who didnt "peace out" are trying to make up for not buying a firebird when they was in highschool or college. mine was a 68, bought in 78. and that country that ruined the Janis Joplin song "take a little piece of my heart" is unforgivable. excuse, i could rant on this one. Creativity is shrinking tho.
- Anything that was made 25 years or more ago is vintage and is good stuff! Anything that is made recently or new with a "vintage" label is junk!
