I remember in the 1990's. basically all through President Clinton's terms, gas prices were very low. I actually remember at one point in the late 1990's, gas prices hit only .89 cents per gallon. I'd say the average price of gas was about half back then when compared to now. People always say that we're consuming too much now. Well how about bcak then? What were we doing? Sitting around and not driving? Bullsh**! It's a shame, bush is putting us into such terrible national debt. Couldn't we be using a lot of this "wasted" money he's using on Iraq to better the USA. Like build new roads, bridges, find cures for certain diseases, etc. Clinton apparently balanced the budget. All I can say is I'm voting for Hillary Clinton if she runs in '08!! Let's get these corrupt Bush's out of office and get old Bill in the driver's seat again! The Republican party shouldn't be looked upon as so bad, but with with Bush representing it, he certaintly gives it a bad name! Does anyone agree??

The reason gas prices were so low was because Saudi Arabia flooded the market with oil to compete with Venezuela and other countries and when there is a greater supply the price falls The reason gas is higher now is because Saudi Arabia and Venezuela lost money by doing that, and now they cooperate with OPEC. Most of our oil comes from Canada and the US, but OPEC has enough oil ready to go that their price controls prices everywhere else. I agree with you that Bush is throwing us back into defecit... the national debt limit is being increased soon because otherwise we'll pass the current limit this October. I don't see how electing Hillary would mean that Bill Clinton would control any of the domestic policies, I remember Hillary said that her husband would be a traveling goodwill ambassador, much like he is now.

Your barometer for what a succesful president is seems pretty shallow. I would say Bush's biggest flaw is that he's a horrible communicator. I cringe when I hear him speak to a crowd or to reporters. He is awkward and whatever message he tries to convey usually gets butchered by the messenger. Bill Clinton, on the other hand, was a wiz at schmoozing people, empathizing, and sounding as if he genuinely cared about things...while at the same time contributing nothing substantial to the economy or the world in general, except trailer-park antics on display in our nation's capital. Try to remember the reason oil is so high now is because China now demands more of it than ever and has driven the market price up in the air. We'll always have this kind of gas price from here on out until we decide to become a self-sufficient nation in terms of oil

I will start with the Congress, not the President spends the money. He can ask for it, but congress has to pass the budget, and most budgets are so full of pork we all should have heart disease. Yes this country is in bad shape right now. You can blame both parties, and there is plenty to go around.
Bush is an a*s with no brain, he has us all in a bigggg deficit ,, the gas prices are too high , and yes he wastes money on a daily basis. I always thought he got in office because of his Daddy's political pull. I don't believe for so long our troops should be dieing and rebuilding Iraq , which also leads to more deaths just because were trying to help them. He can't run the USA right so what makes him the man to run their county right. We had to defend and retaliate from 911 but come on, so many parents have to loss there sons, daughters and fathers and mothers for so long. Especially from a man that never did service time in their life. Hopefully we will get someone in office next turn that sets things right, But they will have to fix his mistakes first. No other country rebuilds the damage they have done in wars. so why us.!? Since he can't run again that's a God send for the USA because a president can only run two terms ..... Gas prices have nothing to do with the war. That's all just a lie perpretated by the media. Most of our oil comes from Canada. Gas prices have been one giant fraud since gas was invented. They sold gas, which didn't have lead in it, when it was invented. They found out that putting lead in the gas would make it run smoother through the engine, and charged more for 'leaded' gas. Then, when they found out that the lead harmed the engine, they took it back out and charged more for it, calling it 'unleaded' gas. And I wouldn't put my faith in Clinton either. We haven't had a 'good' president since FDR, and that might even be pushing it. Every president since the early 20th century has been pushing us towards this democratic fascist state that no one's fighting. Stop worrying about party politics and start worrying about your rights.
