Credit Debt Cures

What should I do to cure my debt?

I ran into some hard times several months ago and as a result, defaulted on 4 credit cards totaling in about $2800. I live paycheck to paycheck and I really can't afford to pay what the debt collectors want. Should I consider debt consolidation? And if so, which companies are reputable? How long will it be before my creditors take legal action against me? I literally have nothing to sell. I am a teacher, and I allready spend my weekends and evenings working on curriculum, so a second job is also out of the question. I'd really like the name of a reputable company.

  1. You need to find was to cut your expenses, so you can pay more on your debt, or find a way to make more money. Have anything valuable you could sell?
  2. I think you should buy as many things as possible. Or..pay it off.
  3. There is a company that can help you save money every month and like me, you can start to pay off your debt with it. Don't give up!
  4. Get a second job or something. $2800 isn't very much.
  5. There are a number of ways you can tackle your debt. If you have multiple debts across a few credit cards, you can always consolidate them with a consolidation loan (Consolidating your credit debt will allow you to make just one payment to a consolidator, instead of numerous smaller payments to multiple credit card companies. Frequently, you can also obtain a lower monthly payment. ) or a balance transfer to a lower rate credit card. If you want to get the creditors off your back without filing for bankruptcy, you can negotiate with your creditors or even hire the services of a credit counselor or debt settlement firm who will negotiate with your creditors and help you establish a payment plan.
