Dave Ramsey membership kit?
I'd like to go to one of the Dave RAmsey meetings in my area but it says you need to purchase the membership kit at $149. plus shipping. I cannot afford that right now. Can I buy an older kit like from Ebay to get in to the meetings?

- have you tried visiting his web site ? you might find an answer there i know on his radio talk show here he gives several callers free items books classes or tickets to his next show if you can find a way to contact him i am sure he would help you with this. try finding a phone # or email link to send this to him
- I've seen the same kit for $99 through Financial Peace University at our church. You don't have to be a church member or even Christian to attend. Just call around and ask. The principals tought are based on his book, Total Money Makeover. You might want to start by buying that book (used, if you can find it) and then saving for the full membership kit.
- The irony, of course, is that you can use your charge card to buy his membership package which will emphasize not using credit cards.
- Wondercat is wrong- you can only use debit cards on Ramsey's website NOT credit cards. The poster previous to that is right, the churches usually have the kits at a discount. And yes, you should be able to attend if you purchase a kit of from ebay/etc. Maybe you can sell some stuff on ebay to purchase the kit?? FPU is a great class and helped us get on track. If you can't afford the kit, you need to go to the class so you never have to say you can't afford $150 item again!
- If you can't afford the $149 right now, I'd start with The Total Money Makeover. It walks you through the baby steps and is all you really need to get started. That's all we've done, and we're making great progress. Good luck!
