Credit Debt Cures
Has anyone done the Peace University program by Dave Ramsey? If yes, what is your opinion?
I have the CDs and I am looking for a place to take the courses but sometimes I questions his radical ways of viiewing Credit Cards and credit . Thank you in advance!

- I have not gone through Financial Peace University, but I have read The Total Money Makeover, and am working my way through the baby steps, and they are working since January. Following his plan has given us control over our money and helped us find the money to pay off our debts. We've paid off $20K this year. Good luck!
- His view of credit IS NOT radical. Ask your grandparents, or anyone's grandparents. They would consider his views NORMAL.
- I dont think his view of credit cards are so radical. Banks make you think you need them. listen to the commercials on tv. Think about it. Some people say keep em for emergancy. I use to think that. Now i save up an emergancy fund for that. mcdonalds said that when they started taking credit cards the average transaction went from $4.75 to $7.00. There is no emotion when using them so you spend more. If you lay down cash its emotional.
- The course is fantastic. Beyond fantastic, even. Dave has no radical ideas on credit. Instead, he uses absolute 100 % common sense. Thanks to Dave, I am very close to being completely debt free. I wish you the same kind of success. God bless !!!!
- FPU is great! It helped us get on the same page financially. The only thing we questioned in his ways was the $1000 emergency fund. We have family in two other states- 12-19 hour drives away. We decided to save a $1000 emergency fund and a $1000 emergency travel fund (in case one of our family members becomes very ill or a tragedy happens). Other wise, his ideas aren't radical about credit cards. Credit cards eat into your earning in ways you aren't aware of unless you start working his program. You will spend less and accumulate less junk when you use cash. You will start asking yourself "do I really need this? Is this a need or a want?" Just like grandpa and grandma ask themselves. I challenge you to take the class (FPU), apply his principles and see if you don't start changing your views. Good luck! And be weird, be debt free!
